Personally I love a freshly tapped Guiness (or 2) with a nice creamy smoke. Kinda hung up on Gurka Doble Maduro at the moment but of course a CAO Criollo is awefully nice as well! Second choice would be a Bass Ale.

    Cheers!

Beer is great!!  I was in PA for cigarfest last week and was at the Brew Works.  They had a Belgium beer there that was unbelievable, and around 15% alcohol it does the trick!  I love Belgium beers, especially with some nice cheeses and a smoke!

Guinness is my absolute favorite beverage to pair with a cigar. Give me a rich, chocolatey smoke like Gurkha Doble Maduro, or a rich, toasty cigar like 5 Vegas Series 'A', and I am in heaven if I have a Guinness to wash it down with.

Another great stout to pair with cigars: Old Dominion Oak Barrel Stout. After fermentation, the beer is aged in oak barrels with vanilla chips to give it a nice, creamy flavor that's slightly sweet. For $24 a case, it's tough to beat.

    That sounds great....

I also like some FrenchCanadian beers like La Fin du Monde...these usually have great flavor and usually a little bit of higher alcohol content, but smooth and delicious....

Sorry, I don't buy anything Canadian, especially if the French is involved.

You are missing out on some great stuff, especially beer, and French food is some of the best in the world.  It is a great culture, but unfortunately the government that runs a certain country can give a bad reputation for the whole culture and country in general....just loook at how much of the world hates the US just because of the people in charge, they don't seem to care that a majority of the people feel the same way.....I am not a politician.....but I do appreciate different cultures and what they have to offer...regardless of their governments....

i love a nice stout with a strong cigar.  any one ever heard of the elysian brewry out of seattle?  they make an incredible beer called byfrost, its a seasonal ale.  and they have a stout called dragons tooth.  that is hands down the best stout i have ever had.  on tap it has an awsome hint of coffee, but it looses it in the bottle.  my fav standby is deschutes black butte porter.

Thor, what do you think of Blue Moon?  It is a Belgian Wheat, and it is owned by Coors, even though you won't read it on the packaging.  Great on a summer evening with a Diploma!

One of my all-time favorite beers (besides micri-brews) is Hacker-Schorr.

BTW Thor, if you come in for the sit-down, we'll all head up to the micro brew by my house.  GREAT beer, and its only a mile away!

I like Belgium Whites in the summer, perfect time for them on a hot summer night!  I am still going to try to make it to the sit down....I love Barley Wines....those are my favorite and haven't been able to find a good one that I can buy at the store...the only good ones I've had have been at Breweries....I used to live about a mile away from one in Flossmoor IL, great stuff there......man, I miss that place!

I haven't had a dilpoma in a long time actually, I still have a bunch but I smoked so many last year I've needed a Camacho break!  I think it's time again!!!

Hacker-Schorr is really good. If you like a nice Wies beir try Francis Kauner (SP). It is usually right next to the Hacker and Spaten as it is anothe rline of Spaten. Oh so tasty makes me drool thinking about it now. It has a fat frier holding his stomach and a big smile on his face. I know how he feels.

James, There is a Washington State brew festival June 16th. I'll send the info if you are interested.
